On Sept. 26, members from John J. Morris Post 62 and Auxiliary Unit 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) supported an event at Luke Air Force Base for suicide awareness. The lapathon was successful, but the new all-time-high temperature for the day definitely lowered some expectations. The all-day event was cut a little short but was worth the time. Our information table had Be the One cards, stickers, buttons and American Legion flyers. Luke AFB has had a rash of attempted or successful suicides in the last 60 to 90 days, and Post 62 felt the need to be there to show support.
