Each month, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) publicity committee reviews nominated businesses in Peoria for the Americanism Award for support of our post or veterans in general. With the holiday weekend looming, the committee went to Immanuel Campus of Care on Aug. 30 to make the presentation. Immanuel has different sections/buildings for total care, assisted living and independent living, and the campus is home to about 100 veterans. Starting in August Post 62 has started monthly visits to veterans living there and has locked in the dates for every month for the rest of the year. You can feel how much Immanuel cares for their clients/residents just by talking with leadership for a few minutes. We salute them for the great work they are doing and the care they are providing veterans. The total care clients are not able to leave the building, so Friday after we met with them, they were hosting a pizza party for the residents.
