Fred Brock Post 828 celebrates 106th birthday of American Legion

San Antonio, TX

SAN ANTONIO – (March 15, 2025) – For 106 years, The American Legion has stood as a pillar of strength, service and unwavering dedication to the nation's veterans.

To recognize the occasion, members of Fred Brock American Legion Post 828 attended a cake-cutting ceremony hosted by the post, located on the city’s East Side.

The brief ceremony was administered by Post Commander Burrell Parmer, who delivered the anniversary speech followed by the cutting of a cake.

“The American Legion is as important today as it was when it first began in 1919,” said Parmer. “We must continue to stay active in this worthy organization, not just for us now but for our future veterans as well.”

The mission of Fred Brock Post 828 is to enhance the well-being of San Antonio’s veterans, their families, the military and the community by its devotion to mutual helpfulness.
