The Blue Ash, Ohio, Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

Northeast Post 630 - Blue Ash, OH

Blue Ash, Ohio, held their annual Memorial Day Parad and Ceremony. They weren't sure if the weather would cooperate, but all was well in the end. There were clouds, some sun, wind and a big crowd! In fact, it was an awesome day for a parade. The color guard led the parade, followed by marchers, floats, car, bands, politicians, firetrucks, military vehicles and more! The City of Blue Ash had another successful Memorial Day parade.

Just like last year, the parade finished at the Cancer Support Community Center (CSCC) on Cooper Road. The city set up the Memorial Day ceremony in CSCC's parking lot. The color guard flag team stood just to the right of the speaker's platform while the rifle team positioned themselves on the lot of the Post Office, overlooking the CSCC parking lot. Above them, the Blue Ash Fire Department hung a huge flag from the raised ladder of their firetruck. It was quite impressive!

A sizeable crowd gathered in the lot, many setting up their lawn chairs in the trees' shade. The event was a very respectful and honorable tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedom. The ceremony closed with the presentation of the memorial wreath, placed by 102-year-old Dennis Schone, a three-volley salute by our rifle team, a playing of taps from our post's bugler and a final prayer.
