John J. Morris Post 62 honors Unknown Soldier

Peoria, AZ

On Nov. 1, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) honored the Unknown Soldier as Veteran of the Month. This is done every November. The flag for October's Veteran of the Month was brought down and folded as our chaplain explained all 13 folds during the process. The flag then was presented to the daughter of the October Veteran of the Month. Our Riders showed up with several members to kick off the event. Then the new flag went up to fly for the month of November over our post to honor the Unknown Soldier. As it was raised, the story behind the Unknown Soldier was read. In the post after the ceremony several commented on how impressed they were with what each fold of the flag meant.

The Veteran of the Month ceremony always starts with the Riders parading in and setting up in front of the flag. Salute to them for their dedication.
