In Anchorage, Alaska, Jack Henry Post 1 has been a beacon of leadership and innovation in the veteran community. In partnership with the USO, Post 1 has developed a networking event to connect Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson (JBER) servicemembers leaving the military with veterans who are local leaders. Post 1 has held three events, helping over 75 servicemembers make valuable connections to the community (even jobs!) and recruited over 100 new Legion Family members (including two Executive Committee members). This has been so successful, the JBER commander came and decided to push all his members to come to future events.
