John J. Morris Post 62 honors our Purple Heart veterans

John J. Morris Post 62 - Peoria, AZ

On Aug. 7, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) honored our Purple Heart veterans. Six recipients were able to attend. They were provided a free chicken fried steak dinner by the SAL and Auxiliary. After dinner they had cake, then at 7 p.m. they went into social quarters to be honored by everyone there and be part of the 7 o'clock toast. The crowd roared in honor of them, plus a standing ovation. We added a second Purple Heart parking place by the front door last year. Parts of the post always stop and thank them every time one of them is in the post. They are truly post treasures.
