Auxiliary president with the widow in front of the diapers dropped off. More are still coming into the post.

John J. Morris Post 62 partners with Auxiliary to support family dealing with suicide

Peoria, AZ

Learning closely the effects of a suicide raises even more awareness to Be the One. After a recent suicide at Luke AFB, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) and Auxiliary Unit 62 came together for the family left behind. After his suicide the widow, 8 months pregnant, and 10-year-old daughter were in need. The widow is lucky to have her mother living close by to provide some support. Post 62 jumped into motion with the goal of providing the widow with enough diapers for the first year of the unborn child's life. Within a few weeks a lady veteran and the Auxiliary president made the delivery and met the family. Tears flowed as they bonded and talked of possible future assistance. It always amazes at times of tragedy how a community can come together to help someone they do not know, but being military makes it family.

How many diapers fit in a SUV?

And more in the back seat.

It was time for first delivery because the storage closet was full.
