My name is Robyn Buttars, and I am a songwriter and author. After writing and publishing five award-winning books, I returned to my songwriting roots to write the new patriotic single, "These are the Stars: A Tribute to America's Heroes," which was released Nov. 1, 2024. This song was written in honor of the men and women who have served and who now serve to protect liberty and justice.
The inspiration for this song came from my military family connections, including my grandfather who served in World War I, where he received word by mail that his first child - my father - had been born three months earlier. Before retiring as a colonel in the Army Reserve, my father served in World War II and Korea. Sadly, my uncle Herbert, a medic in World War II, was captured by enemy soldiers and died while a prisoner of war.
My hope is that this song will encourage gratitude for America and appreciation for those who have served and are presently serving our country. “These Are the Stars: A Tribute to America’s Heroes” will add a patriotic message to your playlist every day of the year, and shed a special light on Veterans Day, Independence Day, Memorial Day and Military Appreciation Month.
