John J. Morris Post 62 Riders deliver toys to families: Day 2

Peoria, AZ

On Dec. 15, the John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) Legion Riders did their second day of delivering Christmas toys to five needy families. Everything is always fluid, and plans change. Today we had 10 other families approach Santa, and we always carry extra toys just for those situations. Santa said, "It is very important this time of year to remember the less fortunate, to spread joy and happiness." Project leader Bobby Gallo, a man of few words, said, " It is all about making memories for families." Another Rider leader, called Chief Worrier Larry Tank, said, "It is great to help the children and their families in this season of giving, but we should carry it forward all year long." A grandmother who has raised her granddaughter since age 3 sent us a text after leaving: "Thank everyone so much for making Christmas come true. We will always remember this day. God bless you all for the wonderful things you do." Hard to follow that up and say anything better. Merry Christmas, everyone!

At this stop dad brought his motorcycle out and the little boy had his there too for a photo op. As long as the Grinch did not get too close.

Excitement was the theme of the past two days!
