In March of 1951 we arrived by buss at Lackland AFB to begin Basic Training. We were met by a stone faced sergeant who introduced himself as our DI for the next 8 weeks by stating "If I tell you a piss ant can pull a freight train you rare back and watch the wheels roll." I was 18 at the time and now 84. I will never forget those words.
