On Thursday, March 16, 2023, American Legion Post 163 in Alturas, Calif., will be celebrating The American Legion's 104th birthday with a chicken dinner, cake and silent auction. It is the one time of year we ask for donations from our local businesses, and many are willing to support us.

Alturas is a small rural town in the northeast corner of the state. Our local veteran organizations are active locally, despite being small in number.
