Dec. 7, 2025, will mark the 84th anniversary of the "day that will live in infamy” - the attack on Pearl Harbor - and the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II.
Perhaps unlike any moment in our modern history, Americans felt the call of duty to help preserve the freedoms we enjoy in this great country. The sacrifices that were made by so many should be cherished, honored and never forgotten.
On behalf of Historic Programs (https://www.historicprograms.org) and the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade Committee, the Amityville American Legion Pipe Band has been chosen as lead pipe band and official ambassador from New York to the 2025 Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade and 80th anniversary of WWII commemoration. This invitation was based on our performance in Normandy for the D-Day commemoration in 2023. The band is committed to honoring our veterans and commemorating America's important history. This invitation is based on the band's outstanding professionalism and standing in the community.
The Amityville American Legion Pipe Band was founded in 1952 by World War II veterans of Amityville Post 1015. In 2013 the band relocated to Massapequa American Legion Post 1066 to continue its patriotic duty to the Legion, our veterans and Long Island communities year-round. The band is extremely honored to be chosen for this prestigious event. As an American Legion pipe band, we are proud to represent the Legion and reaffirm its roots founded in Paris over 100 years ago.
