Leyden Township Heroes Presentation

We stand before you, my brothers and sisters in arms, as living proof of what it means to be a true patriot. As true patriots, we often gave selflessly of ourselves while performing our military duties. Sometimes shedding blood, sweat, tears and especially our youth.

We are privileged to have survived our tours of duty, whether in combat or non-combat support mode. It makes no difference what branch we served in. We honorably served as its protectors to its citizens, our military brothers and sisters, and our nation without reserve. We often wrote a blank check to this nation hoping that while serving the government never cashes.

Some of us are lucky to have survived and shared our life's exploits. And then there are those that weren't as lucky. But those of us that have, we pay homage to those brothers and sisters that have gone on before us. They paid the ultimate sacrifice. But they served with honor and distinction. And we should continue to remember them for their loyal, selfless service that they swore an oath to because in taking that oath, we/they knew full and well, that it really has no expiration.
