John J. Morris Post 62 hosts Polar Express children's event

John J. Morris Post 62 - Peoria, AZ

On Dec. 7 following Pearl Harbor ceremonies, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) hosted a Polar Express children's event. Santa Claus was escorted in on his motorcycle by 20 of our Riders on the motorcycles, to the screaming delight of the children. Watching the children jump and giggle made everyone feel like a child again. Once inside the building the children were doing crafts, doing drawing projects and other activities. There was a whole table of cookies for them to choose from. They also got hot chocolate and candy. After getting their picture on Santa's lap they received a stuffed stocking with goodies. They also got milk and another bag of goodies to take home. Then just before the end, Santa got in the engineer's seat of the Polar Express and kids filled up both cars behind him, until every child got to ride the train! Our Auxiliary had a huge team of workers planning and pulling off the event. A room full of smiles that will last quite a while!
