SAN ANTONIO – (Feb. 18, 2025) – To show love and support for the residents of the Normandy Terrace Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, members of Fred Brock American Legion Post 828 and San Antonio Auxiliary Unit 828 visited the center on Valentine’s Day.
During the visit, which coincided with the center’s Valentine’s Day Social, the members provided gift bags to the residents while Legionnaire DJ T Willie was on the one’s and two’s.
Additionally, the members served cupcakes and ice cream to the residents.
“Valentine's Day events can help residents feel less isolated and more connected to each other,” said Post Chaplain Patricia Wimberly. “Visiting residents of the center on Valentine's Day showed them that we care about them.”
The post last visited the center in December and provided pajamas and socks to 20 residents.
The post’s next activity will be its annual National Vietnam War Veterans Day recognition on March 29 at its event center.
The mission of Fred Brock Post 828 is to enhance the well-being of San Antonio’s veterans, their families, the military and the community by its devotion to mutual helpfulness.
