On March 8, 2025, the bonds of sisterhood grew stronger as our Post 21 women veterans and military friends came together for an event filled with shared experiences, laughter and inspiration. These gatherings have become a sanctuary, a place where we celebrate our commonalities and remind each other that we are never alone in our journeys.
This quarter’s meeting was especially powerful, featuring three incredible guest speakers. Michelle Pope and Lyndsay Holcomb are with the North Texas Patriot Anglers, an organization dedicated to supporting veterans through the therapeutic benefits of fly-fishing. Michelle, a military spouse with a son currently on active duty, and Lyndsay, a U.S. Navy veteran, shared stories of resilience and the healing power of nature. They are committed to bringing opportunities to experience the therapeutic and calming effects of fly-fishing to women veterans.
We were also honored to hear from U.S. Army veteran Eva Fulton, who took us on a journey through her transformative experience walking the Camino de Santiago. As she shared the challenges and triumphs of her pilgrimage, we saw parallels to our own paths - our struggles, our endurance and the clarity that comes from pushing beyond our limits. Her story reminded us that while every journey is personal, we are never truly walking alone.
As we sat together, swapping stories, offering encouragement and celebrating our collective strength, it was clear that this sisterhood is more than just a meeting - it’s a lifeline. We lift each other up, stand together and prove that there is power in numbers, reminding us that strength comes not just from within but from the community around us.
Looking ahead to our next gathering, we carry with us the lessons from this meeting: the importance of connection, the healing found in shared experiences and the unbreakable spirit of women veterans. Until next time, we remain stronger together.
