9/11/24: Tahoma National Cemetery

Tahoma National Cemetery, WA

The Eastside Veterans Honor Guard, with members of American Legion Post 79 and VFW Post 2995, provided military honors today for seven departed veterans with service in Korea and Vietnam. We have had 45 services so far in 2024.
Additionally, there was one service for a recently recovered WWII Pearl Harbor sailor with active-duty military honors by the U.S. Navy. Seaman 1st Class Ralph Keil was only 20 when he died aboard USS Oklahoma as a result of the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. After remaining unidentified for decades, Ralph was accounted for on Feb. 4, 2019, and returned home to be buried at Tahoma National Cemetery.
