Raritan Post 23 holds honor ceremony for Marine

Keyport, NJ

A local Keyport, N.J., family requested an honor ceremony for their family member, a Marine killed in an accident 30 years ago. Lance Corporal Glorianna Saa was climbing into the back of a truck when the driver started the engine. The truck lurched backward into another truck, pinning Saa against the front grill. Saa died as a result of massive internal injuries. This happened in 1994. The family wanted closure and requested an honor flag ceremony for their fallen hero.

As a special note, post members Jim Santella and Ed Lawrence did an outstanding job with the flag presentation, as did our post commander Ken Connors, who presided over the ceremony. This was very special to the family; there was not a dry eye in the room. Raritan Post 23 outdid itself.
