Jack Patterson of West Lafayette has been inducted into the Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame. The 32nd annual induction ceremony featuring 20 honorees will be in November. Patterson is the former mayor of West Lafayette and has represented Veterans of Foreign Wars on the Coshocton County Veterans Service Commission since 2006. His term ends in 2026. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1969.
"I think it's a real honor," Patterson said of the induction. "It's always good for what veterans of Ohio do. It's recognizing everything they've done, so I'm just proud to be part of that group." The Ohio Veterans Hall of Fame recognizes the post-military efforts of outstanding Ohioans who contribute to their communities. Some of the inductees include all eight United States Presidents that came from Ohio, Baseball great Bob Feller, class of 1997, State Senator Anthony Celebrezze, class of 1998, Benjamin Goodrich of Akron, class of 1994, Actor Clark Gable (posthumous), class of 1997, General George Custer (posthumous), class of 1999, astronauts James Lovell and John Glen, and many more famous Americans who were native Ohioans.
