Members of Larson-Torgerson Post 169 gather to commemorate their 105th anniversary in Amery, Wis. Chartered by Dr. Perry Gentz and four other World War I veterans in July 1919 as Larson Post 169 in honor of Pvt. George Larson, who lost his life in France during the war, the post was recharted in 1947 to include the name of Lt. Stanley Torgerson, who lost his life in North Africa in World War II. The longest-serving member, Ross Smith (front row, second from right), has been a member for 79 years and remains active at all Legion functions.
