A local nonprofit came to take some of the larger cuttings. They focus on dealing with PTSD and are putting in a wood shop.

John J. Morris Post 62 has all families come together to landscape

John J. Morris Post 62 - Peoria, AZ

From Oct. 21-23, all families of John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) came together to trim over 60 trees and haul away the trimmings. The trees had grown so full that you could not see the post from the main street, plus they were growing over parking places. Definitely needed to trim to protect vehicles in storms, plus we needed to regain our visibility from the street. Several people showed up to help with the work. A local veteran-owned company offered to haul away everything for no charge except landfill charges. Several tired and possibly sore people were smiles at the difference all the hard work achieved. It is amazing how everyone can come together in support of our post. Thanks go out to all involved.

A number of volunteers showed up a week early to start the tree trimming and stacking it along the side of the parking lot.

Volunteers go to work!

Local veteran-owned company volunteered their trailer to help haul everything away. Post members were out helping load the trailer, four trips both Tuesday and Wednesday!
