The NE Post 630 Color Guard was honored to be able to present the Colors this year at the 2024 Blue Ash 9/11 Run/Walk. This event is coordinated by members of the Blue Ash Fire Department in honor of those who lost their lives in the collapse of the Twin Towers in New York on Sept. 11, 2001. Traditionally, the members of the fire department climb the steps in the tower at Summit Park. Due to ongoing construction at the top of that tower, the members were not able to do that this year. They decided on the Run/Walk to substitute for the climbing of the tower. Our color guard was proud to offer the Colors, a three-volley rifle salute, and the sounding of taps in remembrance of those who died. The entire ceremony is very solemn and respectful. It draws a large crowd, and members of other fire departments also join in. Hopefully, we will be able to use the Summit Park tower next year.
