SAN ANTONIO – (Feb. 18, 2025) – Fred Brock American Legion Post 828 hosted a membership orientation and town hall meeting at the post’s event center.
Lead by 1st Vice Commander Amanda Parham, the membership orientation helped new members learn about the organization's mission and activities.
“The new membership orientation is crucial because it provides new members with important information about the post and The American Legion as a whole,” said Parham. “It helps them feel welcomed, understand their role and actively engage with the other members.”
After the orientation, the general membership meeting was held.
During the meeting, the Post Executive Committee held a town hall meeting that allowed members of the Legion Family to voice their opinions, concerns and recommendations for the betterment of the post.
“It’s important to here from all members of the Legion Family,” said Post Commander Burrell Parmer. “It provided a venue, other than at a general meeting, to have direct dialogue with members.”
Additionally, James Houston Sr., a Legionnaire and representative of Vertex Pain Physicians, presented options of pain management in reference to the spine. Vertex Pain Physicians was a sponsor of the post’s Showtime at Post 828 held Jan. 6.
The mission of Fred Brock Post 828 is to enhance the well-being of San Antonio’s veterans, their families, the military and the community by its devotion to mutual helpfulness
