On April 1 John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) honored Navy veteran Christopher Slane. He spent 20 years in the Navy serving around the country plus in Bosnia and Japan. Once retired, he became well known for his generosity to those in need. He loved hunting, fishing, cooking and especially motorcycles. It was a moving ceremony, kicked off with the Riders coming in to line up in front of the flag, the ceremony and seeing his wife presenting his burial flag to fly over the post for the month of April. These events every month are always a reminder of those who have moved to Post Everlasting.
