Missing something at basic training at Fort Campbell, 1967

We got up every day at about 4:30 a.m., and I never could sleep with my white T-shirt on. I forgot to put it on that morning, but I figured no big deal. In those days no one could see if you had it on under your shirt.
The next thing I know, we are going for shots. When we get there, everyone is told to take their shirts off. Here I am standing there with about 50 to 70 guys, and I am the only guy without a white T-shirt on.
I don't have tell you how the drill instructor felt about that.
