On Aug. 13, 2024, our friend and longtime member Antonio "Tony" Gonzales of Post 205 (Harlingen, Texas) passed away. His sister informed us that his awards and ribbons had been lost. The post honor guard would perform the burial duties at the state veteran cemetery in Mission, Texas, per his last request. With his DD-214 in hand, we reached out to USAMM of Killeen, Texas, for a flag shadow box and requested they reconstruct his awards and medals in a box for presentation.
