American Legion Post 177 collects hurricane relief donations

Post 177 is the collection point for hurricane relief in Fairfax, Va. In less than a week, the post has collected more than 4,000 pounds of supplies, 100 cases of water and $13,000 in monetary donations. The first truck packed with supplies left early Friday morning, with more trucks to follow each week. Post 177 is coordinating with the North Carolina National Guard for delivery points and distribution to those most in need of food and supplies. The outpouring of kindness from posts throughout the 17th District, the Department of Virginia, neighbors and other organizations has been phenomenal!
