On Friday, May 10, the Hanover County, Va., school system, with the cooperation and support of The American Legion posts within the county, held a ceremony to honor seniors that made the decision to join our Armed Forces after graduation.
Post Commander Warren Rice, of Post 175 in Mechanicsville, provided a video honoring the graduating students. Other Post 175 members attending the ceremony were Robert (Bob) White, Post 175 Adjutant and post member Kelli Schips.
Commander of the 13th District of Virginia, George Navas, also attended the ceremony, representing all three posts within Hanover County: Beaverdam Post 90, Mechanicsville Post 175 and Ashland Post 206.
The ceremony was held at Patrick Henry High School (PHHS) just outside Ashland.
