On Dec. 1, John J. Morris Post 62 (Peoria, Ariz.) honored former two-time commander Jim McCrady as our Veteran of the Month. His passing hit the whole family hard. He held several positions in the post, some multiple times, along with being district commander. He was known for calling bingo and for his dry sense of humor (and I mean Arizona desert dry). There were tears in the crowd, and the post renamed their Post Member of the Year after Jim. He will be missed, but we cannot carry on about it or he will shout down from Post Everlasting and tell us to get over it ....
