Members of American Legion Post 18 and American Legion Auxiliary Unit 18 were treated to a tour of the prestigious Naval War College Museum in Newport following our 7 May 2011 meeting.

Tour guides Professor John Hattendorf and Education Specialist John Kennedy helped us appreciate the long history and importance of the US Navy's presence in Rhode Island.

The antique Flag donated by Unit 18 to the NWC Museum has been professionally preserved and mounted in a special case to protect it from the elements and light. It was a thrill to see it now on permanent display for the public to enjoy!
