Dedicated to enriching the lives of veterans, their family members and the youth in our community through the camaraderie and sportsmanship of golf.
The American Legion Golfers Association started as an idea. In 2018, SFK Unionville AL Post 535 in North Carolina created its first American Legion golf team. Several friends routinely got together to play charity golf tournaments around the area to encourage each other to not only improve their games but to heal through camaraderie and competition.
In 2023, the 17th District in North Carolina created the American Legion Golfers Association (ALG), the first golfing organization dedicated to promoting the game to all veterans and their family members.
The ALG is working tirelessly to create golfing programs that will keep veterans, their family members and children active in the game of golf for many years to come.
On June 24, the Monroe Country Club Hosted the second American Legion District 17 Jr. Golf Tournament.
