In late June, Valley Arts and Education hosted a paint class at John J. Morris Post 62 in Peoria, Ariz. These classes can last up to a couple of hours, and attendees take their paintings home. Youngsters really enjoy taking painting home and sharing with a relative. Normally attendees arrive early to have dinner at the post before the class starts. Painters have included Legion members, SAL members, ALA members, ALR members, families and community friends. Classes are the fifth Tuesday during the year and the fourth Tuesday from June to August. At the end of the class, a donation is made back to the post in one of their groups. It is a great time of relaxation and meeting new friends, good for the soul.
