On Monday, June 24, Larry Jeffers Post 195 of Lugoff, S.C., was extended a tour of the Fisher House on the grounds of the WJB Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia. Afterwards, the post presented Fisher House with a donation for $10,000. On hand for the presentation were Department of South Carolina District 11 commander Pete St. Onge, post commander Claude Turner, post second vice commander Kate Brock and Auxiliary unit past president Marianne Larson. Columbia Fisher House manager Chandler Rhodes accepted the check.
The donation is an annual tradition of Post 195. Also taking the tour, but not in the photo, were post adjutant-elect Ella Calvert, Auxiliary president Glenda Baxley, Pam Marten, Auxiliary facilities manager Brenda Cook and Auxiliary historian Sarah Davidson.
