The veterans club came to hear more about The American Legion and brought a ton of questions. One thing we stressed is that the post is a safe place to come and visit.

John J. Morris Post 62 does outreach to senior living center

Peoria, AZ

On Oct. 3, John J. Morris Post 62 had two of the publicity/community relations team reach out to the Wooddale Village senior living center. We were asked to come and address their monthly veterans club meeting. They are located about 5 miles from our post. There were about 17 of their members in attendance, and they came loaded with questions about the post. We supplied information on The American Legion, a calendar of our October events and more post information if they wanted it. Some had visited in the past for the fish fry and said they would definitely be back for the meal, but possibly for other activities too. They were surprised by how much takes place at the post and by its community outreach. We are always willing to talk with local groups to tell them about everything we are doing. A big thank-you to Jerry from the Wooddale Village veterans club for the invite.

Publicity/Community Relations Vice Chair Curt Sapp kicked off the event with a focus on the history of our post.
